Coal Seam Gas Exploration

CSG have a long standing involvement in Coal Bed Methane (CBM) projects in Australia. We consider CSG to be a venture with vast potential, and we value our participation in what is a major contributor to Australia’s increasing demand for energy.

We have been involved in such projects from their inception to today’s program where CSG’s geologists are supervising well completions. After major exploration involving extensive on-site gas desorption testing, our main CBM projects have moved onto their production phase, while maintaining steady exploration phases. During the production phase, CSG’s geologists get hands on experience in CBM well design, completion and production. We consider this experience to be a valuable asset in a well rounded skill base as a CSG geologist, and we view CSG as a valuable resource over time as Australia moves toward cleaner energy production.

Coal Exploration

CSG are involved in numerous coal projects with many small, intermediate and large companies. We provide essential Data Acquisition, Database Validation, Resource Assessment and Survey services for numerous clients in multiple locations, all with varying requirements.

Underground Coal Gasification

Like CBM, Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) is a vital and new technology in the Australian Energy Market. UCG is set to provide low cost synthetic diesel (amongst other products) for an ever increasing energy market, making this venture competitive in comparison to conventional fuel production. CSG have been on board with Australia’s largest and most experienced UCG companies. UCG is a very exciting prospect for CSG, and Australia, and we are proud of our current involvement and future prospects in this field.
